Ensham Resources Pty Ltd is one of Queensland’s largest and fastest growing thermal coal producers. The Mine Manager will work in close consultation with the General Manager – Projects for Ensham Resources in the development stage of the mine, moving to a 2 continuous-miner operation producing 1.7 million tonne per annum by early 2012. This is a greenfield development with the Mine Manager being responsible for:

  • establishing an effective underground operations organisational structure;
  • developing and leading the Ensham underground mine team members and contractors;
  • liaising with open cut operations to achieve effective integration;
  • promoting a culture of safety and risk-management;
  • developing systems and processes in respect of underground operations;
  • achieving production and cost targets.

 

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the establishment and development of a new mine, allowing considerable potential for career enhancement. The position will appeal to an experienced Mine Manager with a successful background in operations, along with experience in underground coal mine development. Statutory qualifications at First Class / Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency level are essential.
